Hello George,
I will look at setting the default branch to Branch-9.2
In the mean time, yes after cloning the repo, you need to do:
git checkout Branch-9.2
I will check to make sure that I pushed the tags. The previous command
will get you the most
current version of Branch-9.2. A checkout of a tag will get you the
branch but only up to the
time of the creation of the tag, which may or may not be what one really
wants.
Best regards,
Kern

We are pleased to announce that we have just
released Bacula version 9.2.0 to Source Forge and to
www.bacula.org.
When cloning the git repo version 9.0.8 shows:
[/tmp/download]: rm -rf *
[/tmp/download]: git clone http://git.bacula.org/bacula.git bacula
Cloning into 'bacula'...
[/tmp/download]: cd bacula/
[/tmp/download/bacula]: git describe --tags
Release-9.0.8-9-gf4f0a43e0
[/tmp/download/bacula]:
Is that supposed to be updated or should one explicitly
checkout tag 'Release-9.2.0'?
