Dear Bacula community,

Would like to request advice with an issue - we are having trouble with our first Debian 10 (testing) bacula client

Backup Server is Debian 9 Linux, packages are:

server# apt-show-versions | grep bacula
bacula-bscan:amd64/stretch 7.4.4+dfsg-6 uptodate
bacula-common:amd64/stretch 7.4.4+dfsg-6 uptodate
bacula-common-sqlite3:amd64/stretch 7.4.4+dfsg-6 uptodate
bacula-director:amd64/stretch 7.4.4+dfsg-6 uptodate
bacula-director-sqlite3:amd64/stretch 7.4.4+dfsg-6 uptodate
bacula-fd:amd64/stretch 7.4.4+dfsg-6 uptodate
bacula-sd:amd64/stretch 7.4.4+dfsg-6 uptodate
server#

server is able to back up windows and linux clients on the same subnet without issue.  All linux clients so gffar backed up are on bacula 7 client in DEbian 9

Enter a new box, a debian 10 testing box with Bacula 9x client packages:

deb10-client#  apt-show-versions | grep bacula

bacula-common:amd64/buster 9.0.7+dfsg-2 uptodate
bacula-fd:amd64/buster 9.0.7+dfsg-2 uptodate
deb10-client#

The rule is (DIR = SD) >= FD.

Either upgrade your server to 9.0.7, or downgrade the client to something <= 7.4.4.

        Cheers,
                Gary b-)
