Hello to the Bacula Users list,

I'm a relatively new Bacula user and I'm having trouble getting my backup
jobs to complete consistently, they will run without error for a week or
two and then get stuck waiting for an appendable volume.

My environment:

Cent OS 7 64 bit (Linux hades 3.10.0-693.5.2.el7.x86_64 #1 SMP Fri Oct 20
20:32:50 UTC 2017 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux)
bacula-dir Version: 5.2.13 (19 February 2013) x86_64-redhat-linux-gnu
redhat (Core)

I'm writing backups to 4TB external USB drives (can't seem to get vchanger
working but that's for another thread) mounted at /media/usb_bkup.

Here are my config files:

bacula-dir.conf: https://ctrlv.it/id/67898/2994437102

bacula-sd.conf: https://ctrlv.it/id/67901/977346560

bacula-fd.conf: https://ctrlv.it/id/67903/2964743006

When the job pauses I either see messages indicated a volume already exists:

*07-Dec 13:33 hades-dir JobId 787: Error: sql_create.c:424 Volume "HAT0735"
already exists.*

Or that bacula can't find a specific volume:

*06-Dec 12:20 hades-sd JobId 740: Warning: mount.c:219 Open device
"FileStorage" (/media/usb_bkup/backup) Volume "HAT0952" failed:
ERR=dev.c:575 Could not open*

I've only got about 1000 Volumes in use and a maximum of 4000 for the
pool... what am I doing wrong here?

Thanks in advance for any guidance the list can offer.
