For keeping all the Bacula clients up to date I'm playing with the idea to build a statically linked bacula-fd on a current Linux release - maybe openSUSE 42.3 in a virtual machine.
Any special options are not needed. On a first test the configure options seem to be: --enable-client-only --disable-libtool --enable-static-fd Is it save to run such a file-daemon on elder Linux Versions?
