Thanks Heitor for your answer. I have for some time promised an aligned
plugin. The current state of it is as follows:
1. As I previously wrote, I have submitted (in Bacula Systems name) a
patent for this technology. The patent is currently pending, which
means it is valid, but not yet formally approved.
2. Until the patent is granted, I have been advised not to release the
source code.
3. Consequently, Bacula Systems is helping me build binaries for Bacula
community 9.0.x that have the aligned plugin binaries. These binaries
are almost ready and will be released on the bacula.org web site.
Exactly when I cannot say, but it should not be more than another
month. Please do not hold your breath. I think the last problem we are
currently working on is getting the debian packages properly signed.
Also, I must finish the installation documentation.
4. At some point when the patent status is final, we will release the
source code.
5. Note: in order to use the aligned plugin you must use the new
community binaries that correspond to the same version. These binaries
will be released on bacula.org. The plugin is linked against the Bacula
core code so must be linked with the SD that it is going to work with.
