this is extremely frustrating! :( im reading the section about bscan[1], which is what i need to use right? i dont understand how this all works and its stressing me out. apparently i need to re-define my clients in the bacula-dir.conf? what does that consist of? there is already one Client defined by default, with a Name of <system name>-fd which is the Client that i want to restore from... am i supposed to re-define all of my clients? (i think i had 7)
i found that the most recent volume written is Vol0038 so i tried running this command: bscan -c bacula-sd.conf -v -V Vol0038 /media/external/bacula but i am getting errors about "Could not get Client record. ERR=Client record not found in Catalog" so is it not defined correctly in bacula-dir.conf? so i'm just obviously lost and really need help to get back into my backups, then i need to know what to do to prevent this from happening again. it seems like i need to use another backup program to backup /etc/bacula and the database separately.... 1. http://www.bacula.org/5.0.x-manuals/en/utility/utility/Volume_Utility_Tools.html#SECTION00270000000000000000 ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Monitor 25 network devices or servers for free with OpManager!
