​Have you checked the $wd variable in the first lines of
make_catalog_backup.pl script is the same as "WorkingDirectory =
/var/spool/bacula​" as it is in your bacula-dir.conf?

​Have you changed your PID directory to /var/run after upgrade? Can you
post the output of "netstat -nltup | grep bacula"?
