be there.​

​When the job runs again, the recycling ​algorithm will be performed by
Bacula. If you have recycling correctly configured Bacula will re-use
volumes. Doing purge in jobs or files do not purge your volumes. So this
will not let your volumes available for recycling. You need to purge
volumes and configure them for recycling in your confs.

Bacula will just recycle a volume if it cannot create a new volume when
automatic label is configured. If you want Bacula recycles your volumes,
then you should limit the volumes in the pool. This way, when it is not
possible for Bacula create new volumes, then the volumes already in the

volume. For canceled jobs, you will need to purge or delete them. But this
will not delete or purge the volumes associated with it. Mainly because the
volume could have been used by other jobs before and there will be data on
