We do the same thing as this and have a single device resource with no autochanger.
Config is as follows: Device { Name = bacula_backups Media Type = File Archive Device = /opt/bacula/backups LabelMedia = yes; # lets Bacula label unlabeled media Random Access = Yes; AutomaticMount = yes; # when device opened, read it RemovableMedia = no; AlwaysOpen = no; } -----Original Message----- From: Florian [mailto:florian.spl...@web.de] Sent: Thursday, 11 September 2014 1:58 PM To: bacula-users@lists.sourceforge.net Subject: [Bacula-users] Autochanger: yes or no? Hello. I have a possibly simple question: I am planning to save backups on a not removable hard drive and want bacula to automatically label new Volumes when required. Is using one Device Resource in the Storage daemon enough or is there any use for an autochanger in this case? Thanks. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Want excitement? Manually upgrade your production database.
