Now that the poweradapter of the tapedrive is replaced I actually could test
this and find that both drivers are not being loaded. As said before, I
previously used Barracuda Backup. Since my server runs Slackware from 2007
(migration to CentOS6 is planned...), does this mean that the drivers are newer
than 2007 and Barracuda uses its own driver for the backup ?

Hi!

You just need to have your tape drive working on linux (maybe this should help:
http://forums.opensuse.org/showthread.php/446886-HP-DAT-72-USB-external) and
I´m quite sure you will be able to manage it from Bacula. If you are able to
manage your tape drive with linux "mt" command, it´s very propably you will be
able to manage it from Bacula.

Regards,
Ana
