Hi Shon, we recently had many problems with our director running on debian squeeze (using the backports packages for 5.2.6 I think).
We started running bacula in foreground mode (via daemontools) with debugging enabled (using the "-d 250" switch). You will get extensive logging (e.g. every SQL query). At least on debian, bacula comes with a pre-configured way to email you a traceback upon a crash. You can find more information on that here: http://www.bacula.org/5.0.x-manuals/en/problems/problems/What_Do_When_Bacula.html Hope that helps! BTW: In our case, our director started crashing when we enabled accurate backups with some older clients. It kept crashing after we disabled that feature - apparently some parts of the database got messed up during those crashes and bacula sometimes tried to look for volumes in wrong pools or in wrong storage devices (and either crashed or got stuck). We 'fixed' that by creating new pools and shifting backups over to the new pool and as well by running the dbcheck tool: http://www.bacula.org/manuals/en/utility/utility/Volume_Utility_Tools.html#SECTION002120000000000000000 Am 04.02.2014 16:25, schrieb Mingus Dew: > Dear All, > I'm running bacula-5.2.13 on Solaris 10 x86.
