Hi, I have now as far as I can see, managed to correctly configure Bacula to backup my Windows7 32Bits PC from the Linux Server. But still something is wrong which causes the backup to fail. This is what can be found in the log: 18-Mär 22:28 duke40-pc-fd JobId 16: Generate VSS snapshots. Driver="Win32 VSS", Drive(s)="C" 18-Mär 22:28 duke40-pc-fd JobId 16: Fatal error: Generate VSS snapshot of drive "c:\" failed. 18-Mär 22:28 duke40-pc-fd JobId 16: VSS Writer (BackupComplete): "Task Scheduler Writer", State: 0x1 (VSS_WS_STABLE) 18-Mär 22:28 duke40-pc-fd JobId 16: VSS Writer (BackupComplete): "VSS Metadata Store Writer", State: 0x1 (VSS_WS_STABLE) 18-Mär 22:28 duke40-pc-fd JobId 16: VSS Writer (BackupComplete): "Performance Counters Writer", State: 0x1 (VSS_WS_STABLE) 18-Mär 22:28 duke40-pc-fd JobId 16: VSS Writer (BackupComplete): "System Writer", State: 0x1 (VSS_WS_STABLE) 18-Mär 22:28 duke40-pc-fd JobId 16: VSS Writer (BackupComplete): "ASR Writer", State: 0x1 (VSS_WS_STABLE) 18-Mär 22:28 duke40-pc-fd JobId 16: VSS Writer (BackupComplete): "Shadow Copy Optimization Writer", State: 0x1 (VSS_WS_STABLE) 18-Mär 22:28 duke40-pc-fd JobId 16: VSS Writer (BackupComplete): "COM+ REGDB Writer", State: 0x1 (VSS_WS_STABLE) 18-Mär 22:28 duke40-pc-fd JobId 16: VSS Writer (BackupComplete): "Registry Writer", State: 0x1 (VSS_WS_STABLE) 18-Mär 22:28 duke40-pc-fd JobId 16: VSS Writer (BackupComplete): "WMI Writer", State: 0x1 (VSS_WS_STABLE) 18-Mär 22:28 duke40-pc-fd JobId 16: VSS Writer (BackupComplete): "BITS Writer", State: 0x1 (VSS_WS_STABLE) 18-Mär 22:27 mail-sd JobId 16: Job write elapsed time = 00:00:42, Transfer rate = 0 Bytes/second 18-Mär 22:27 mail-sd JobId 16: JobId=16 Job="BackupDuke40.2013-03-18_22.05.00_06" marked to be canceled. 18-Mär 22:27 mail-dir JobId 16: Error: Bacula mail-dir 5.0.2 (28Apr10): 18-Mär-2013 22:27:17 Build OS: i486-pc-linux-gnu debian 6.0.3 JobId: 16 Job: BackupDuke40.2013-03-18_22.05.00_06 Backup Level: Full (upgraded from Incremental) Client: "duke40-pc-fd" 5.2.10 (28Jun12) Microsoft Windows 7 Starter Edition Service Pack 1 (build 7601), 32-bit,Cross- compile,Win32 FileSet: "WindowsSet" 2013-03-18 22:05:00 Pool: "File" (From Job resource) Catalog: "MyCatalog" (From Client resource) Storage: "File" (From Job resource) Scheduled time: 18-Mär-2013 22:05:00 Start time: 18-Mär-2013 22:26:35 End time: 18-Mär-2013 22:27:17 Elapsed time: 42 secs Priority: 10 FD Files Written: 0 SD Files Written: 0 FD Bytes Written: 0 (0 B) SD Bytes Written: 0 (0 B) Rate: 0.0 KB/s Software Compression: None VSS: yes Encryption: no Accurate: no Volume name(s): Volume Session Id: 2 Volume Session Time: 1363557058 Last Volume Bytes: 5,432,426,613 (5.432 GB) Non-fatal FD errors: 1 SD Errors: 0 FD termination status: Error SD termination status: Canceled Termination: *** Backup Error ***
any idea, what is causing this error? I know this is not aBacula error, but an error on the Windows side, but google did not deliver any valid information when searching for the reported error. Any help would be appreciated. Best regards, Jean-Gabriel ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Everyone hates slow websites. So do we.
