Hi,

Right now I store all of my backups on a NAS over gig-e. (NAS has 4 1tb SATA
disks) Its mounted via NFSv3 from a linux host.

I use 1 gig files and often I encounter the case where a job needs more space,
but volumes need to be pruned. So the jobs waits for the pruning and in the
mean time tells me there are no volumes available. The pruning takes for ever
then when its ready the job gets to use the 1 gig volume, fills it very quickly
then has to wait for pruning again.

This effectively backs up jobs in the queue and makes for a vicious cycle.

Are there any recommendations for handling this in a smarter way? Perhaps up my
volume sizes to 10 gigs, or some sort of pre-emptive pruning of files ?

Jeff.
