MySQL 5.0.anything is end-of-life as of last December 31.  MySQL 5.2 is
not and never has been a general-availability production release, and
you should not be using it in production.

My advice to you would be to go to http://dev.mysql.com/downloads/mysql
and download the latest MySQL 5.5 RPMs for RHEL6/CentOS6/Oracle Linux 6.
 The current GA version is 5.5.25a.
