March is the only month whose German name contains a non-ASCII character (ä). So only during this month, Bacula's log messages on servers with de locale contain 8-bit characters, like in:
02-Mär 22:05 backup-dir JobId 987: Start Backup JobId 987, Job=backup.2012-03-02_22.05.00_30 Unfortunately Bacula sends its mail messages without MIME headers, so non-ASCII characters are strictly speaking illegal and their interpretation is left to chance. For example, my Thunderbird renders the above as: 02-MÀr 22:05 backup-dir JobId 987: Start Backup JobId 987, Job=backup.2012-03-02_22.05.00_30 Not a big problem, but ugly nevertheless. Any ideas how to fix that? Thanks, Tilman -- Tilman Schmidt Phoenix Software GmbH Bonn, Germany
