I've got a large (~16 TB) file server that I want to back up onto a ~40TB RAID
array connected to
the fileserver via fiber channel (so there is no backup traffic on our
network).
I need to ease into the backups - I don't want to try to back up the whole
file system at once because
everything will grind to a stop trying to move that much data. I want to
distribute the backups over 4 successive weekends,
doing about 5Tb each time.
How do I set up the configuration file(s) so I can start the backup process
one Friday and turn on the subsequent
sections every Friday until everything is running. If I turn I on now with the
full backups on succeeding Fridays with incremental backups
on other days those incrementals will all get promoted to full on the first
night it tries to backup.
Any suggestions would be appreciated.
