I have this error backing up Exchange on a Windows 2008 Standard 64 bit system. "HrESEBackupSetup" seems to be a Windows call. Bacula reports the error and yet seems to back up the proper amount of data though I cannot access it since it is flagged as failed. Microsoft has an article about this call which ties into the ntbackup. Article ID: 820272.
The article is for Windows 2003, but it basically says that is the Exchange data and the OS are on the same partition you will have problems. They recommend backing up the main server first and then the exchange data. I am currently doing this and I will see what the results are. I also have a Win 2008 SBS server configured in the exact same way that has no problems backing up Exchange, but on there I have the exchange data on a different partition. In the MS article it does suggest that when the data is on a different partition you should not get this error. +---------------------------------------------------------------------- |This was sent by jbuck...@cendatsys.com via Backup Central. |Forward SPAM to ab...@backupcentral.com. +---------------------------------------------------------------------- ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ All the data continuously generated in your IT infrastructure contains a definitive record of customers, application performance, security threats, fraudulent activity and more.
