Check the compression of gzip make sure your getting the files compressed. May slow down the backup process but if it's space you are worried about it will help tremendously. And also, Bacula will always stay at full capacity no matter if the job is pruned. Unless you MANUALLY delete the volume it will stay there until it comes time to write over it. Bacula assumes the space given is only for it's use so it will keep it full until it needs room and will just write over the old stuff.
