Yeah, I've thought on this matter too and I thought that maybe there are some Ruby bindings to other languages. I've not investigated the topic though. But why I chose Ruby is that it's just so simple language to develop things in - the 1st script I wrote (the script went over a list of server addresses, logged into them with SSH and executed some commands in there) took only about 1 hour (it was the 1st time I ever looked at ruby).
