The total that is ever written to the tapes in question is 1.5GB or so. Wouldn't make much sense to waste DLT's on them (which I do use for large jobs). > I think it is bad form to suggest changing your tools, but in this case, > it was suggested to me a few years ago and I do not regret it. > > I went to DLT from DDS a few years back (7 or 8?). Never had a bad restore, and DLT is definitely overkill for me. Bacula is sort of a niche software for us -- we use it for non-production backups and backups that are not supported by HP Data Protector (which used to be more, but now that they've upgraded a couple of times, it supports most of what we have). - -- - ---- _ _ _ _ ___ _ _ _ |Y#| | | |\/| | \ |\ | | |Ryan Novosielski - Sr. Systems Programmer |$&| |__| | | |__/ | \| _| |novos...@umdnj.edu - 973/972.0922 (2-0922) \__/ Univ. of Med. and Dent.|IST/CST-Academic Svcs. - ADMC 450, Newark -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.4.10 (GNU/Linux) Comment: Using GnuPG with Mozilla - http://enigmail.mozdev.org/ iEYEARECAAYFAk1C9cMACgkQmb+gadEcsb5VbACgyXbQqSRCy3cf6PsX+XYYOYW8 GZoAniJFcB0U1/SioeCBIKPvdcxtxYEY =uol7 -----END PGP SIGNATURE-----
