Yes, u were right. Pine, is the first member on our new domain and thus did not have the same host entries. I was surprised to find out that the sd address needed to be resolvable both ways for the backup to work. Regardless, using the IP only is working now and will leave until dns has been merged to the new domain.

In the case of a FQDN instead of an ipaddress being placed in the bacula-dir.conf, the director does not resolve the FQDN it passes that to the client to resolve. This is actually a good thing because it can allow for complex multi homed setups where different clients have a different path to the storage.
