I have a Bacula-5.0.2 setup with my Director and a disk SD on a Solaris 10 x86 box, and a tape SD with a single standalone LTO2 drive on a Gentoo Linux machine. I've been trying without much success to debug a problem in which, *after* running a job or series of jobs on the tape SD, all subsequent jobs on the *disk* SD stall indefinitely "waiting on max Storage jobs". I've figured out that for some reason the Director is holding the *disk* SD jobs waiting on the *tape* SD, which never becomes available because it not only has no volume mounted, but has no jobs running on it nor waiting to use it. This condition can be cleared only by restarting all Bacula servers.
One of the things I have observed in my efforts to diagnose this is that, although I do not have an autochanger, several of my tape volumes (generally the three volumes used by the last Fulkl backup) show up in BAT's Pools view with apparently-random changer slot numbers. Is this meaningless, or is it possible that Bacula is somehow confused into thinking that my single tape drive is an autoloader and this is part of the problem? -- Phil Stracchino, CDK#2 DoD#299792458 ICBM: 43.5607, -71.355 ala...@caerllewys.net ala...@metrocast.net p...@co.ordinate.org Renaissance Man, Unix ronin, Perl hacker, Free Stater It's not the years, it's the mileage. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ The Palm PDK Hot Apps Program offers developers who use the Plug-In Development Kit to bring their C/C++ apps to Palm for a share of $1 Million in cash or HP Products.
