Subject: cannot find appendable volumes

Hello,

Another question to the list. Every time I run a backup of I client I get a
similar message to the below...

09-Jun 10:43 bacula01-sd JobId 3: Job kojak-onsite.2010-06-09_10.19.21_06 is
waiting. Cannot find any appendable volumes.

Please use the "label" command to create a new Volume for:

    Storage: "Drive1" (/dev/st0)

    Pool: Onsite

    Media type: LTO2

I then create issue a 'label' cmd and go through the steps. And am told that
there is already a volume loaded.

*label
The defined Storage resources are:
     1: File
     2: Tape
Select Storage resource (1-2): 2
Enter autochanger drive[0]: 0
Enter new Volume name: testvol-6-9-10
Enter slot (0 or Enter for none):
Defined Pools:
     1: Onsite
     2: Catalog
     3: Offsite
     4: Scratch
Select the Pool (1-4): 1
Connecting to Storage daemon Tape at bacula.microslu.washington.edu:9103 ...
Sending label command for Volume "testvol-6-9-10" Slot 0 ...
Invalid slot=0 defined in catalog for Volume "" on "Drive1" (/dev/st0). Manual
load may be required.
3920 Cannot label Volume because it is already labeled: "vol-6-9-10-1040am"
Label command failed for Volume testvol-6-9-10.
Do not forget to mount the drive!!!

The volume already loaded says 'Append' and not full so why am I being prompted
to change the tape? Ideally, I would like to add several tapes to a backup Pool
and the have Bacula overwrite data on each volume as needed w/o having to
load/unload tapes. Note, this is a tape robot (ADIC Scalar 24) and has an auto
changer mechanism.

Appreciate the help!

Thanks.
