I have figured out what was happening. It was a combination of two things, firstly the upgrade to 5.0.2 had made the file /usr/lib/libbac-5.0.1.so only readable by root. I fixed this problem by doing:
chown root:bacula on /usr/lib/libbac-5.0.1.so Secondly, Outlook had decided the messages from bacula were spam, so has been marking it as junk. Didn't even think of this as I had created a rule for the address to move it into its own folder, plus if I sent the messages via another SMTP server, they came through okay. In the meantime I have opened up the smtp ports on one of my linux boxes which use sendmail to post it's own notifications and it works fine. I would still rather go straight to my exchange though :) -----Original Message----- From: Martin Simmons [mailto:mar...@lispworks.com] Sent: 20 May 2010 16:58 To: bacula-users@lists.sourceforge.net Subject: Re: [Bacula-users] BSMTP Problem with Exchange >>>>> On Thu, 20 May 2010 13:57:54 +0100, Beck J Mr said: > > There are no error messages. Try running bsmtp on the command line again with the -d 10 option and post the result. That might print useful ids to help track where the message has gone. You can run it with a pipe to avoid typing the message and CTRL-D: echo test | bsmtp ... Sorry, I don't know about Exchange but this looks interesting: http://www.msexchange.org/tutorials/Exchange-2003-Message-Tracking-Loggi ng.html __Martin ------------------------------------------------------------------------ ------ _______________________________________________ Bacula-users mailing list Bacula-users@lists.sourceforge.net https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/bacula-users ------------------------------------------------------------------------ ------ _______________________________________________ Bacula-users mailing list Bacula-users@lists.sourceforge.net https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/bacula-users ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ _______________________________________________ Bacula-users mailing list Bacula-users@lists.sourceforge.net https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/bacula-users
