that is strange... 
can you check what are your default SO_KEEPALIVE values with:

grep '' /proc/sys/net/ipv4/tcp_keepalive_*

and what bacula is using for running connections - start backup first,
then check if keepalive is enabled (and with what timers) with:

netstat -to
