For me bwx-console crashes all the time on 2.4.X under gentoo. However to me its not that big a deal. If I am doing anything that takes more than a few seconds I just ssh into any of my linux servers and run bconsole from them. I probably already have a few putty windows open anyways. A few months ago there was a thread about this problem and I believe Kern was made aware of this.
