ext3 is possibly not a good fs for a Maildir. Can't offer you any personal accounts, but I was looking at Google for something else regarding filesystem performance for MythTV, which is at the opposite end of the spectrum (small number of large, sequentially written files with parallel files in use at the same time (record 3 programs, watch another, all at the same time, then delete a large file after watching it)). One likely page I saw was http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=398332 which heads towards xfs/jfs for your arena. -- Mike Holden http://www.by-ang.com - the place to shop for all manner of hand crafted items, including Jewellery, Greetings Cards and Gifts ------------------------------------------------------------------------- This SF.Net email is sponsored by the Moblin Your Move Developer's challenge Build the coolest Linux based applications with Moblin SDK & win great prizes Grand prize is a trip for two to an Open Source event anywhere in the world http://moblin-contest.org/redirect.php?banner_id=100&url=/ _______________________________________________ Bacula-users mailing list Bacula-users@lists.sourceforge.net https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/bacula-users
