Folks,

We just bought a new system with 1.3 TB of RAID6 disk and HP LTO-3
tape drive for bacula. we will be keeping all the backups on the disk
except full backup which we want to copy to the tape and store it
offsite. We want to be able to restore files for any day for one month,
after that we can restore it from full backup.

Here are the three different schedules that I can think of, and I am
looking for help from the current users of bacula on which one to use:

1) Full backup on first friday of month, migrate (copy) to tape.
Keep the backup on disk for 2 months and on tape for 13 months.
Differential backup every friday, keep for 2 months.
Incremental backups on other days, keep for 2 months.

2) Full backup on first friday of month, migrate (copy) to tape.
Keep the backup on disk for 2 months and on tape for 13 months.
Differential backup on alternate friday, keep it for 2 months.
Incremental backup on rest of the days, keep it for 2 months.

3) Full backup on first friday of month, migrate to tape.
Keep the backup on disk for 2 months and on tape for 13 months.
Incremental backup on other days, keep it for 2 months.

Since all the backups will be stored on the disk, does it matter which
one I use?

Since all the backups are on the disk, can I backup more than one
system
simultaneously?

Incremental backups would run faster and would take less disk space
then differential+incremental.

Any other recommendation?

How would I setup schedule?

Thanks.
