It should be very unusual, on correctly configured systems. One of the
first things that you should be doing is re-routing root mail someplace
else, but as far as not having root be a valid address on the same host,
I can't imagine that being a good idea. Plenty of stuff mails root on my
machines, not just Bacula. A lot of information from root's cron output
generally goes there too, among other things. Maybe it's less unusual on
non-UNIX platforms though.

The backtrace file is also written somewhere, so it's not EXCLUSIVELY
e-mailed, but I guess the notification is.
