Hello, I have a Question about the Bacula Behavior in a special Situation. I'm using 2 Tape drives and 1 Pool (Default)
Because I have to use a separate Resource for every Tapedrive (DAT01, DAT02) in this case, I have to specify the Drive a want to use for every Job I run. There are many Jobs running currently, so its is difficult to see which Job needs longer to complete since Data volume changes everyday. I use sometimes the (run= storage= ) override to tell bacula which drive is gonna be used, so I can know that parallel can write at the same using different drives. This lead to the following Problem. lets say. VOLUME1 is mounted on TAPEDRIVE DAT01 VOLUME2 is mounted on TAPEDRIVE DAT02 I have 4 Jobs to run on schedule. They start at the same time but obviously 2 of them will have to wait for the first 2 to terminate. Job 1 and 2 are set to write on Tapedrive DAT01 Jobs 3 and 4 are set to write on DAT02. Before the Jobs start, all say, they want VOLUME1 which seems normal behavior. For some reason, Job 1 and 2 are very fast and terminate before Job3 does. Now the Problem. Because Jobs 1 and 2 are done, Volume1 seems to be free for use now. After Job 3 completes, the Job 4 starts, but It wants me now to put VOLUME1 on DAT02. After one hour, the message reappears after two hours then, the message appears again. Then, Bacula starts writing Job3 on VOLUME2, although it wanted VOLUME1. Is there a Way to reduce the time Bacula waits until it makes a decision like the last one??? or is there another way to deal with 2 Drives and One Pool??? help....... -- Christian Sabelmann Hardwareentwickler Tel.: 040/398053-20 Fax: 040/398053-29 e-Mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED] portrix.net GmbH Stresemannstr. 375 22761 Hamburg Germany HRB 79850 (Amtsgericht Hamburg) Geschäftsführer: Knud Alex Müller, Henning Voss, Niclas Schroeder http://www.portrix.net ------------------------------------------------------------------------- This SF.net email is sponsored by: Microsoft Defy all challenges.
