As Arno Lehmann told me recently, it's:

update volume=<volume name> pool=<pool you want it in>

Use the 'add' command (I presume you used 'delete' to remove them.

Of course if you want to wipe the label you use mt -f /dev/nst0 weof, 
but this is destructive and must only be done on tapes you are reusing.
