No advice, but same problem. server sb3 in a full backup takes 7 hours 54 minutes backing up almost 18 million files totaling about 93GB, 3245 KB/s. Another server "mail", same hardware, full backup: 8 mins 18 seconds to back up 19,120 files totaling 23GB, 45623 KB/s. The difference is that sb3 has tons of small files. This is from 15KRPM scsi RAID1 drives to LTO3 tape in both cases, same operating system too. -- This message has been scanned for viruses and dangerous content by MailScanner, and is believed to be clean. ------------------------------------------------------------------------- This SF.net email is sponsored by: Splunk Inc.
