I have been loving ***most*** of bacula, there's a few things that make
me feel uncomfortable but we learn to live with them.

Just wanted to post back...

You were correct in that at the moment of truth, Bacula indeed did the
right thing, marked last week's 'Append' volume off as 'Used' and
utilized the volume that was available to Bacula itself which of course
was not expired 'Volume Use Period'

it worked well...it did the right thing
