In the pool you use, set "Catalog Files = No". Yes, and this is the most problematic thing here... to restore a single file from that backup, you'll either have to use bextract, possibly loading the complete backup from the volumes to a disk, or bscan to add the contents to the catalog. I wouldn't do it - the catalog will most probably not break when you have a a few millions of file entries more.
