Hi,

I copy the strategie of Daily tape rotation I found at this link
http://www.bacula.org/rel-manual/Backup_Strategies.html#SECTION003033000000000000000
it works good but I meet a problem.My pools are always in append mode, so
before doing the backup the system move to the end of data, even the
retention period of the pool is passed.
So My tape become full and the system tell me to label a new volume, but I
choose to have only one volume by pool.

08-Nov 04:10 BRU1003B: Start Backup JobId 297,
Job=Backup_pstor003_Daily_Tape.2007-11-08_04.10.00
08-Nov 04:10 MainSD: Volume "BRU1003B:002" previously written, moving to end
of data.
08-Nov 04:10 MainSD: Ready to append to end of Volume "BRU1003B:002" at
file=8.
08-Nov 07:00 MainSD: End of Volume "BRU1003B:002" at 34:15347 on device
"DDS-4" (/dev/st0). Write of 64512 bytes got -1.
08-Nov 07:00 MainSD: Re-read of last block succeeded.
08-Nov 07:00 MainSD: End of medium on Volume "BRU1003B:002"
Bytes=31,786,675,200 Blocks=492,724 at 08-Nov-2007 07:00.
08-Nov 07:02 BRU1003B: Pruned 4 Jobs on Volume "BRU1003B:002" from catalog.
08-Nov 07:02 MainSD: Job Backup_pstor003_Daily_Tape.2007-11-08_04.10.00
waiting. Cannot find any appendable volumes.

I want that before the system do the backup, the tape is overwritted (and
not changing my retention period of 6days)

Thanks for your help

Abdel
