I used to use Bru. The old version we used always worked fine. I've had nothing but problems with the more recent versions. Jobs would never complete. Tolis techs had me run through a bunch of different things. Replaced the tape drive, scsi card, cable, and tried several different Linux distros to run it on, ran some shell commands to tweak settings and it still wouldn't work.
Tried bacula and jobs now complete with no problem using the same equipment I was not able to get working with Bru. That said we use Bru at our other office with no problems. The Bru gui is defintiely easier to use. That's my experience with the two.
