I have the autochanger defined in the bacula-sd otherwise bacula will not be able to load/ unload tapes. But the changer does not have to be defined in bacula-dir.conf. > > Still, config looks rather cumbersome with these fake duplicate Storage > devices. Pools should be about function (e.g. Full vs. > Incremental backups) and not about physical implementation (e.g. tape format > and capacity). > This is a user preference. I have separate pools between my DLT and my LTO, DVD and disk media. I know this is redundant since the Media Type handles this. The one benifit I get from this is that when I list media I only have one type of media per pool so that I can more easily find what I want. I also name my new pools with the media type so I have pools named UserBackups-LTO2 and LTO2-Archived-Data.
