I agree with the notion of running anything "real" on sid..  But  
there are a number of things that I selective pull in from testing/ 
unstable.  So far the only one to date is postgresql 8.2 as a matter  
of necessity.  They added some key performance features for my needs.

Sometimes projects set up their own .deb packages well in advance of  
the debian branches.
eg: dbmail does a great job of this.
Thought it worth a try.  Debian list has been rather quite on this one.
