Hi list,

I am new to bacula. I have searched already the list and had a look into
the manual. But before I start to install bacula and test it for our
purposes, I need an answer to the following question:

I am working in a quite big data center, and we have a very old self
programmed perl script, which does the backups for us. But we think it's
time for a modern solution like bacula.
The nice thing which this script does is to backup all the files and
pipe it to a script, which sends it over the network to the backup
server process. There a .tgz file is written to disk.

We do that because we have no disk space left to write first the whole
backup on the clients disk and then to copy it from the local disk over
the network.

Is it possible to backup clients without writing the backup files to the
local disk of the client with bacula?

Thanks,

Achim
