Hello,

Now that Bacula 2.2.1 is release (currently uploading), I've begun work on a
project to liberate Bacula from what I consider "onerous" restrictions of the
GPL. The FSF considers the OpenSSL license onerous, so forbids mixing GPL and
OpenSSL code, which IMO is a pity since it inhibits the synergy of using Open
Source code.

This project involves rewriting a number of the low level routines, two of
which I have already rewritten (the easy ones). During this period (roughly
a month I expect), I consider the SVN slightly unstable, so recommend not
pulling code from it for production use.

If you wish to use the 2.2.1 release code, you can either download it from the
released files on Source Forge (available in the next couple of hours) or
pull it from the SVN tag Release-2.2.1 or branch Branch-2.2.1.

Best regards,

Kern
