As far the documentation suggests (and my checking of the code), there 
doesn't appear to be a database upgrade required for 2.0.x to 2.2.x.

The thing that's making it difficult for me is that some incremental 
backups are completing just fine- I'm wondering if it might be a mysql 
timeout issue, so I'm going to try bumping the timeout values higher.
