The issue described in my previous mails has been resolved. Granted, I am an idiot. The Howto states the following device section in the storage daemon example configuration: Device { Name = <name> DriveIndex = <index> Autochanger = yes; DeviceType = File MediaType = File ArchiveDevice = <device> RemovableMedia = no; RandomAccess = yes; } Of course, it must say "RemovableMedia = yes;" instead. Otherwise bacula cannot know that the magazine is removable. doh. Works like a charm now.
