I've been through the manual and haven't found anything that talks
directly about how autochanger drives are selected for use during a
restore. The search engine on sourceforge for the mailing list archive
is down so I'm asking here.

I have a 2 head LTO-3 library that's been in production for several
months. Backup jobs will use both drives at the same time as expected,
as long as the job priorities are the same.

I'm trying to do a restore using an FD that is busy doing a long backup.
The backup is running on drive 0 of an autochanger that has 2 drives
defined under it. The restore is sitting waiting on max Storage jobs.

I've got 2 questions -

1. Can one FD run both a backup job and a restore job at the same time?

2. Does a restore job, when given the autochanger device as it's storage
resource, always select drive 0 from the autochanger or can it use drive
1 if drive 0 is busy?

2a. If restore can use drive 1, how do I tell it to do that?

Thanks!
