There are prebuilt rpms, so i would suggest you try them out. See http://sourceforge.net/project/showfiles.php?group_id=50727 FC6 binary rpms are in the "rpms-contrib-fschwarz" subdirectory. I use them myself on a couple of FC6/RHEL5 boxes and they work flawless.
