That's not how it works. If you have a tape and it is full, you cannot 
overwrite old data -- you must overwrite the whole tape. I probably don't 
need to tell you why this is a bad idea for production data (what if that 
tape fails while you're writing and you happen to need a backup?). I would 
recommend a minimum of 3 tapes for anything you're trying to do.
