Keep in mind doing a weof does NOT rewind the tape -- AFAIK, only a
rewind does this. As for whether it's necessary? I somewhat doubt it --
that said, I do it anyway. In this case, at least giving it a whack
would tell you whether or not that is at all related to this problem.
