I just tried that, and get the same behavior.  I have also tried
setting the user to root with the mysql root password, and the results
are the same.  

By the way, the config file was the default config file
from a fresh installation of bacula 2.0.3.  I hadn't edited it yet
because the install documentation says to use the stock config files
for the tutorial.
