Why does it sound so obvious now :/   This is what I need to do you're right.
Because I don't have a changer at home and only two drives it would be nice to
only have two pools but the monthly fulls are going to be my only real user
intervention (change to a volume assigned to monthly fulls). The reason I
think I overlooked this is because I don't think I could assign a volume to
multiple pools, just multiple volumes to a single pol and I'd prefer to just
leave the tapes in the drives and only change them if I have to because they
are full :)

I think I can make this work the way I want though.
