I'm running bacula Version: 1.36.2 on Mandriva2005 and from time to time I'm having problem with bacula. It stops (It looks like it loosing network connection) which is not a big problem, but after that I can't restart it. The bacula-fd is becoming a zombie process I can't remove without restarting the machine. Theoretically zombie process is a not big thing, but in this case (I'm not sure that this actually causing this) when I restart bacula-fd the new process is being killed shortly after, and backup is nod made.
