I reply to myself just to clarify what I mean. A google search on
"site:bacula.org ldap" did not give me anything, so maybe this idea was
not disussed, yet?

I was thinking of LDAP objects like

objectClass: baculaDirector
cn: myServer-dir
hostname: myserver.example.com
dir-port: 9101

objectClass: baculaJobDefs
cn: DefaultJob

... and so forth. IMO it should be quite easy to map config ressources
to objects and keywords to attributes and also to keep both in sync
during future developement. BTW this could be an accompanying feature to
APIizing bacula? I am not a distributor, but I think there are many
distributors plus projects like Univention, Collax, GOsa and the like
who could be interested in an LDAP-interface.

Greetings,
/hm
